Winter Words
In chilly Massachusetts, it feels like winter already. I try hard to embrace this season, which I know is ideal for introspection and writing practice.
We're lucky to have visitors from time to time on our snowy hill. (See above. This rabbit is not a fan of lobster.) All year long, the old wooden trap reminds me of my hometown in Maine.
DECEMBER WRITING EXERCISE: What reminds you of home? First, consider what or where feels like home for you. What are the sensory details (sights, sounds, smells, sensations), objects or people that bring home close to mind?
Freewrite for 10 minutes without self-judgment. Be messy and honest. Don't cross anything out. Then consider reading this out loud to yourself. Or to a trusted someone.
