I recently interviewed author Cheryl Strayed for Kripalu Center of Yoga and Health. It was an absolute pleasure to do so. She didn't realize, but she's been a writing mentor (and human mentor) for quite some time. I gushed during our talk because I so admire her willingness to be vulnerable on the page.

MARCH WRITING EXERCISE: Cheryl writes, "We have to reach hard in the direction of the life we want--even if it's hard to do so." What does it mean for you to "reach" right now? What is the life you want? Freewrite for 10 minutes without self-judgment. Be messy and honest. Don't cross anything out. Then read your words out loud to yourself. Or to a trusted someone.
