Winter can feel endless in Western Massachusetts, which is why this Instagram discovery lifted my spirits: @Taylor_Swift_As_Books (a book lover/Swift fan) reimagines book covers as outfits. My forthcoming story collection, AMPHIBIANS, has been Swifted!

FEBRUARY WRITING PROMPT- Self-portrait as book cover: Go to your bookshelf and choose a favorite book. (One you like because of the cover, the contents or both.) Go to your closet and choose a matching ensemble. Put it on! Then find a mirror and describe what you see. Give yourself permission to be whimsical today. Misspell. It's fine. Just keep writing for 10 minutes or so. Then read your words out loud to yourself or a trusted someone.
