Lara Tupper: Swift Ink Stories

Unresolved in 2023
 

I love calendars. Tomorrow, to kick off 2023, I'll hang four on various walls. Four chances to turn the page and make a clean start.

This is hogwash, of course. There is no way to erase my misgivings and missteps from 2022. Though I like to think some magical balm will take them away at the stroke of midnight, December 31, they will likely remain on January 1.

And I've realized: That's okay. I don't want to start the year with perfection in mind. I want to give myself permission to carry the good, the bad AND the ugly into 2023.

This seems like less pressure. This seems like an honest way to live.

I hope you'll join me in messiness in 2023.
