I like to be crafty this time of year. Or I like the idea of being crafty. On December 1st I have great hopes of making gifts for all. I get out my glue gun and potholder loops. I dislodge the cookie cutters from other unused kitchenware. (Hello, potato masher.) I gather old magazines and wrapping paper, planning to make holiday cards.
Today, December 7th (first night of Hanukkah), I’ll do some panic buying online.
I married into an incredibly crafty bunch. They participate in juried art shows and receive commissions. I’m playing with pipe cleaners and my husband is carving a sculpture out of a cherry tree he felled. (This is not an exaggeration.)
